People change. In the tunnel of change, in darkness from entrance to exit, everyone is on their own, facing their challenges to break free of their past self to reinvent their identity. We all experience this phase at many points in our lives, so much so that this threshold of the in-between bears a name: liminality.

Five years ago, this anthropological concept from the sixties was rediscovered by the internet in its most physical form, as liminal spaces (also dubbed «backrooms»). Since then, people share photos of empty places of transit, evoking a sense of unease to the beholder. These places can vary between very literal or more figurative liminal spaces.

In this short film, we tried to create a synthesis of these concepts in an audio-visual experience. We follow Diane during a pivotal phase in her life, that just so happens to unfold at one of the most frequented liminal places of all: an airport.

In life, we undergo a myriad of changes.
